Trooper

After being married for a year my husband Nate and I decided that our little home wasn't complete. Since we successfully kept a houseplant alive, we knew we were ready for the new responsibility of a dog! We did Google searches, read up on pure bred puppies, visited book stores...and then realized, there are so many dogs out there who deserve loving homes, why don't we adopt a pet? We stumbled upon Paw Prints Magazine and from there found the link to CAPS. Before long we were dressing up in our most responsible looking outfits to visit PetSmart in Jacksonville to meet a little gal we fell in love with on the CAPS website (with our application filled out in advance, of course.) When we met her in person, our hearts melted and we knew she would be the new addition to our home. We named her Trooper (not only has she been a little trooper in life, but our last name is Storm, so it just makes sense, right?) and the week-long wait before we could take her home was agonizing. Ever since mid January (she is 8 months old now) we've seen the sunny side of life and there is no going back! Trooper (T-Dizzle, Troopster, Super Trooper) is our sunshine and we are thankful to CAPS for making our step into adult responsibility and starting a small family possible!

Every now and then our doorbell will ring and it will be the neighborhood kids asking to play with Trooper! She also has these ears that are constantly moving...when she's walking they go back against her head to make her more aerodynamic and when you talk to her she cocks her head to the side with her ears moving like little antennas - like she is really trying to understand what you're saying. She can sit and shake and lie down ... but most of all she loves belly rubs...and sitting, shaking, lying down all end up in a belly rub of praise anyway!
